1 Top. 3 Ways !

Am I the only one that dreads that transition from Fall to Spring? Please tell me I'm not the only one with this issue....The weather never wants to make up it's mind one day it is cold the next day it's warm. I find there is always a struggle when I am getting dressed. I have to figure out whether or not I just want to roast or be cold. When I styled these three looks I kept that concept in mind. I wanted to give you guys some options on what to wear during this time of the year and maximize your wardrobe while doing so.

 These three looks are based around this Navy Scuba Crop Top I recently purchased from the www.thegeishahouse.com . I stumbled on this boutique while I was thrift shopping in Philly. I decided to take a look inside after I saw their window displays, and I am glad I did because I discovered a hidden gem! I decided to pair this skirt I got from

www.forever21.com with this top. I've been exploring neutrals and I felt like this would be a great color to use against this top. To keep the color scale going I wore these camo & nude printed pumps to seal in the look. I feel like the shoes tie everything together and its takes the look from conservative to fun and different. This outfit can be worn for a night out, brunch with friends, or on a date-night.

For my ladies that don't well in heels this look is for you! First let me say... I'm a now a proud sneaker owner! It took sometime but, I was on the hunt for some walking shoes. After doing my research I figured these Adidas Superstars would be suitable for the look I was going for. I am so in love with these sneakers because they go with everything. I realized they were pretty popular, when I tried to get my hands on them they were sold out everywhere. I finally found them at www.finishline.com. I paired these kicks with these all white high-waist pants I recently purchased from www.hm.com. I wanted to keep this look fresh so, I used these pants to make the top stand out. This is great outfit to wear while running errands, shopping with the girls, or to the movies.

When you throw it on with heels it immediately takes this look to the next level. Shoes and coat are from www.forever21.com. 

This next look is my favorite because I live for a midi length skirt. This skirt is actually from a set but, I was not ready to wear it together yet so, I paired it with this top. I love the colors together and the dark grey pumps tie it together so well, Skirt is from www.payhalf.com. This look is so affordable that is why I love it so much. You can look great if you use your resources and be a frugal fashionista!

Blend in vs. Stand Out

 

It is imperative for me to different. It's what keeps me sane. I feel like some people rely solely on people in the fashion industry to be a template a for them. Looking to them as inspiration is great. But, the idea is to make these styles inspire you not duplicate them. ( don't get me wrong I do look at magazines and what celebs are wearing to draw creativity) but, I don't rely on their fashion sense to forecast what I'm going to be wearing for the next season. Over the years I can't count how many times I recall myself saying I was "passionate about fashion" but then a spark went off and I realized it's not the fashion I'm passionate about, truth is it's the style. Style is timeless there is no " what's in now". It's about what you feel like wearing that day. I use to plan my outfits in advance but, I stopped I realized my killer outfits were the ones that didn't involve any thinking. It honestly all depends on my mood when I get up that morning. I actually mentally put outfits together in my head. 

The originality factor kicks in when you stay true your style, and not allow "what's in the now" to taint your personal style. When I'm out and about and someone compliments me on my outfit I tell them thank you. But, there is a different satisfaction that I get when someone approaches my and says ... " I get it ". Now THIS makes me feel like I got my point across without having to speak and that should be the main goal when it comes to displaying your personal style. When others understand what I'm saying, thinking, & feeling through my choice in clothes and how I put them together it is truly an indescribable feeling. At times I wonder if being an introvert helped me gauge my style.( let me explain) ...I never really paid much attention to what others were wearing. I try and stay in my own little bubble and buy pieces that cater to me or just items to enhance my wardrobe. I did not want what others were wearing to cloud my vision when it came to my choice in clothes. I did not want to buy pieces because they were trendy I only wanted them if could see myself wearing them on more than one occasion in a million different ways.  Looking back now I think it paid off. ( side note) never let your friends opinion of your outfit make you change your clothes if you love it, and you own it, then you better wear it!  

Which brings me to say ...this is why I created Istylehunt. This brand is simply what it says 

"I hunt for styles". Whether it be in a thrift store or a Burlington coat factory sales rack. I don't discriminate ! I love originality so the pieces that I find are NOT sold in bulk. What you see is what you get. There won't be another one. I did this because I was hoping that someone would " get it ". Get the fact that I want to push people to be original.  There are a lot of boutiques and vintage shops that sell items that everyone can acquire and I'm sorry but, I simply did not what that for my online shop. I wanted pieces that people could purchase and step out the house feeling confident because they knew that they would not catch someone else wearing it. So, instead of me complaining about people not being authentic I created a brand where I can bring that to my generation and the ones that follow. 

As Istylehunt was in progress I got a lot of questions about my personal style as well as where I shop. Now this why I decided to blog. ( BehindIstylehunt.blogspot.com) I felt like it could work hand in hand with my brand. Showcasing my personal style and showing potential customers how to style their IstyleHunt  pieces. Bingo ! I want people to understand that my blog is simply showing you without labels you can still look top dollar. It's all about how you pair the items in your closet. You don't have to break the bank. I'm constantly reinventing my wardrobe and when I say that I don't mean shopping. I mean recreating the pieces I have and styling them with other items I already have. There is no need to spend money on designer items just to say you have them. Those items in my opinion are not timeless. I want my blog to be a platform for you to leave your feedback about these topics. I want to know how you feel. Let me know what you guys want to see more of and I will try and bring that to you. Options

OPTIONS - The number rule when it comes to creating your personal style.

many of us may fall into the habit of shopping "trends" and when they are no longer in style we look at our closet and we say those five dreadful words..." I Have Nothing To Wear" in order to resolve that problem learn to shop for options and not trends. Options are simply things you can wear more than one time in a million different ways, and each time its completely different from the rest. Let's take these red pumps and this biker jacket for example. These red pumps give this outfit a pop of color and adding the biker jacket gives it some edge. I paired it with this skirt because I wanted a fun look. This can easily become a day to night look once you loose the jacket and add a clutch. The statement necklace makes the outfit go from casual to dressy. It so easy to make your personal style versatile when you have "Options" so the next time your out shopping with girlfriends make sure your purchasing those "options"!

 

 

Red Pumps & How to Wear Them!

My weakness is a Red Heel. I'm sorry but I can almost always find a million ways to wear a red pump. I love them they go with anything. You can dress them up or dress them down. In this outfit post I decided to keep it super casual. Of course I wanted the shoes to be the focal point so I decided to pair them with these comfy boyfriend jeans from Forever21. (super affordable) as well as this denim top from American Eagle Outfitters, another great investment that I purchased back in 07 and this top has not fail me yet! My bag is from Aldo and my jacket which was in my pervious post is an IstyleHunt exclusive. I wanted to look laid back so to top everything off I threw on a Yankees snapback which I purchased at FootLocker.  I didn't want to look too dressy so that is why I wore the hat so it could balance to the look and tone it down a bit. A statement necklace was a must for me I love adding a twist to a conventional look. It makes it my own!

LEATHER X LEATHER

Leather has pretty much snuck its way into my wardrobe and took over my jeans. Every time I go out I always gravitate towards leather trousers or skirts. I really feel like it makes a look basic look almost look not so basic anymore. I love leather and oversized anything. I don't think this is a trend I will ever grow out of. In this look I basically did a "All Leather Everything" I've been paying a lot more attention to basics because they are great investments and you can mix and match them with everything. I feel like a well fitted leather skirt and jacket is a must have in any season. The leather skirt I am wearing is from HM and the Leather Jacket is a IstyleHunt exclusive. I found this jacket and immediately thought to myself this " I just hit the jackpot!" (I know it may sound corny) but let me give you the details about this jacket.

My boots are from forever21 as well as the sheer turtleneck I am wearing. Overall I love this outfit because it was under 100 bucks and lets admit it, this looks pretty expensive.

If your like me and you hate large winter coats this is the perfect post for you! When winter comes dressing warm and still remaining stylish can be tricky. In this post I am going to tell you all the essentials you will need to keep warm and cozy. 1. Leather Jacket: the leather jacket I am sporting is a ISTYLEHUNT piece it's a great transitional piece. If you want an edgy look grab a biker jacket! 2. Chunky Sweater: this oversized sweater I must say is my best purchase thus far. It goes with everything! the color is perfect if you are in love with the monochrome look & it is warm and soft. (sweater can be purchased at H&M) 3. Thigh High Boots: These have been seen all over this season and its because they go with everything! They are so easy to style. When you know you are going to be doing some walking in the city definitely grab a pair of these boots and your entire look will fall together.

My Favorite Hue Is?

EVERYONE, and when I say everyone, I mean EVERYONE! was rocking a camo colored coat this fall/winter. I wanted something totally different so, I went with this FOREVER21 royal blue trench coat. It was such a great addition to my wardrobe. One of the tips I use when shopping is, first I ask myself: How many ways I can wear this item? Then I ask myself is this a timeless piece? If I come up with more than three or four answers you can find me at the register. I really wanted the coat to be the focal point of this outfit so I paired it with a lighter hue of blue and a white pant.(both of this pieces can be found at Forever21) I wanted to keep it neutral so I just wore a nude heel. This is a great outfit to wear to a holiday party with friends or just out to dinner or an artsy event.
